INTERFACE
INTERFACE is a paid 2 day bilingual (EN & FR) research intensive for Adawe/Ottawa based professional dance artists in the emerging phases of their careers. It is open to all members of the Adawe/Ottawa dance community in all styles of dance. INTERFACE focuses on exploration and collaboration. It is an opportunity to work with fellow artists in a non-judgemental, focused and inclusive space. Accepted artists receive an honorarium for their participation in INTERFACE.
The first iteration of INTERFACE took place August 28-29 2021 at Vincent Massey Park and was led by emerging choreographers Elizabeth Emond-Stevenson and Myrielle Bernier-Acuna. We developed a work-in-progress together over the course of two days, without the pressure of creating a final product or formal presentation.
INTERFACE takes place on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people known as Adawe/Ottawa.
Applications from individuals identifying as artists with disabilities, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, women, francophone and other language minorities are encouraged and will be prioritized.
INTERFACE is made possible with the support of the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Dance Directive.

INTERFACE est un labo de recherche rémunéré pour les artistes émergent.e.s en danse de la région Adawe/Ottawa dans tous les styles. INTERFACE est axé sur l’exploration et la collaboration. Il s’agit d’une occasion de travailler avec un ensemble d’artistes passionné.e.s, dans un espace inclusif et sans jugement. Chaque artiste accepté à INTERFACE reçoit un honoraire pour leur participation.
Dirigée par chorégraphes émergentes Elizabeth Emond-Stevenson and Myrielle Bernier-Acuna, la première itération d’INTERFACE s’est passée le 28-29 août 2021. Au cours des deux jours du labo, nous avons développé un travail en cours sans la pression de créer une oeuvre complète ou une présentation formelle.
INTERFACE a lieu sur le territoire traditionnel et non-cédé du peuple Algonquin Anishinaabe connu sous le nom Adawe/Ottawa.
Les candidatures postulées par les individus s’identifiant comme artistes handicapé.e.s, 2SLGBTQIA+, PANDC, femmes, francophones ou d’autres langues minoritaires sont fortement encouragées et seront priorisées.
